At the Iittala Glass Factory, everything begins with fire, sand, and water — the essential elements of glassmaking. Sand is the raw material, transformed by fire into glowing glass. Water, used to treat the wooden moulds, helps shape that molten mass. These same elements now inspire a new way to experience Iittala: through scent.

The Iittala scented candle collection transforms the atmosphere of glassmaking into three fragrances. Fire captures the intense heat of the furnace. Water recalls the cooling stillness that follows. Sand evokes the grounded calm of raw material, waiting to be shaped. Together, they express the scent of a place — where tradition, craft, and design meet.
